Improve Insomnia

Sleep is the most natural thing to do… right? So why do so many people suffer from sleep conditions such as insomnia? It can have a huge effect on the sufferer’s life and those around them.

Insomnia can create problems in relationships, careers and just carrying out everyday tasks.

There are many different reasons why people have problems sleeping. Hypnotherapy for insomnia can help you to address your own personal reason, allowing you to sleep soundly for the correct length of time that is suited for you.

Insomnia is the disturbance of a normal sleep pattern, and it’s thought that something like one in four people will suffer with insomnia during their lifetime.

When we sleep it gives us time to rest, recuperate and build our strength, both mentally and physically. Insomnia can leave people feeling drained and exhausted, resulting in poor performance at work, lack of concentration and irritability.

The amount of sleep a particular client needs varies greatly and my hypnotherapy for insomnia programme takes this into account. Each client is unique in the help they need, and things like age, body size and even diet can frequently influence the amount of sleep an individual needs.

In the main, a baby needs around 16 to 17 hours of sleep a day. As the child gets older they need around 9 to 10 hours, and as adults we need approximately 7 to 9 hours each day.

No one is immune to insomnia, it can affect anyone. However, menopausal women, the elderly, alcoholics, people with anxiety and depression are particularly vulnerable.

The amount of time insomnia lasts is variable; it can last for days, weeks or years and can be tremendously upsetting, draining, disheartening and frustrating. If it lasts for a few days it’s often called transient insomnia. Anywhere between a few days and 3 weeks it’s usually called short-term insomnia, and longer than 3 weeks it’s called chronic insomnia.

Hypnotherapy for insomnia

Hypnotherapy for insomnia is a very successful way of treating insomnia. Hypnotherapy for insomnia will help you to relax, both mentally and physically. Hypnotherapy can also help an individual to understand some of the causes of insomnia and sleeping problems.

In my experience, virtually all cases of insomnia are caused by an underlying anxiety and quite often the client is completely unaware that the anxiety is affecting their sleep.

Many people suffering from insomnia believe they are not going to be able to sleep. This generates anxiety about sleep, which is often a cause of the insomnia.

Hypnotherapy for insomnia can help to re-educate your mind to expect and achieve a good night’s sleep.
